Sony heeft bekendgemaakt welke games je mag verwachten van het vernieuwde PlayStation Plus. En daar zitten heel wat sterke titels in. Van exclusives zoals Returnal en Spiderman: Miles Morales op PS5 tot klassiekers zoals Red Dead Redemption 2, Syphon Filter, MotorStorm en BioShock.

Vanaf 23 juni krijg je de keuze uit drie verschillende PlayStation Plus-abonnementen: Essential, Extra en Premium. In de video hierboven kan je zien wat elke formule precies aanbiedt.

Plus Essential: niets verandert

Neem je PlayStation Essential (€8,99/maand of €59,99/jaar) dan verandert er eigenlijk weinig ten opzichte van je huidige abonnement: je kan online spelen en krijgt maandelijks toegang tot enkele PlayStation Plus-games voor PS4 en PS5. De ouwe gekende formule.

Plus Extra: véél downloadbare games

Neem je Extra (€13,99/maand of €99,99/jaar) krijg je toegang tot een bibliotheek aan downloadbare PS4- en PS5-games. Sony maakte al bekend dat de service nooit de nieuwste exclusives vanaf release zal aanbieden, al blijft het aanbod bijzonder aantrekkelijk.

Het duurste abonnement heet Premium (€1§,99/maand of €119,99/jaar) en geeft spelers naast de lijst hierboven ook toegang tot een bibliotheek aan downloadbarePS- en PSP games, remasters en PS3-titels.

Sommige van die games zullen een verbetere framerate en resolutie hebben, terwijl enkele titels ook herwerkte menu’s krijgen. Die laat je toe om gameplay te pauzeren en op te slaan op eender welk moment.

Tot slot krijg je via Premium ook toegang tot game trials. Daarbij kan je zo’n 2 uur van de game proberen, vooraleer je overgaat tot een aankoop. Cool is dat alle ontgrendelde trophies, alsook je behaalde progressie overgezet wordt naar de volledige game, als je besluit de titel te kopen. Houd er rekening mee dat dit slechts een selectie is van alle beschikbare games. Op launch zullen er volgens Sony meer titels worden toegevoegd en zal het aanbod blijven evolueren. Twee keer per maand wordt het aanbod van downloadbare games aangepast.
