Alles wijst erop dat Sony plannen heeft om zijn PlayStation Direct Store ook naar Europa te brengen. In september lanceerde Sony in de VS zijn eigen webshop waar je rechtstreeks PS5-consoles, accessoires en games kon kopen. De store blijkt zo’n succes dat Sony ook een webshop voor Europese gamers wil.

Het nieuws over die Europese plannen werd gespot in een vacature waarin Sony op zoek is naar een business director om de hele operatie te runnen:

“This role will be responsible for the European sales strategy and delivering the sales targets of the direct to consumer hardware business in Europe. Working collaboratively with PlayStation Direct (‘PSD’) leaders, the role will form part of the executive leadership team to drive PlayStation’s direct to consumer business forward.”

Helemaal officieel is het nieuws nog niet, maar het is wel duidelijk dat Sony ook in Europa rechtstreeks aan gamers wil gaan verkopen. Misschien krijgen we zo gemakkelijker een PS5 te pakken?
