Nu Sony eindelijk de tech specs van de PlayStation 5 heeft bekendgemaakt (tijdens een bijzonder droge livestream), delen ook ontwikkelaars hun mening over Sony’s nieuwste console. Andrea Pessino, oprichter van Ready at Dawn (The Order: 1886)  is alvast laaiend enthousiast over de specs van de PS5.

Pessino tweette zijn bewondering voor de console en heeft het ook over de discussie over teraflops die nu aan de gang is:

Dollar bet: within a year from its launch gamers will fully appreciate that the PlayStation 5 is one of the most revolutionary, inspired home consoles ever designed, and will feel silly for having spent energy arguing about “teraflops” and other similarly misunderstood specs.

Het gerucht doet de ronde dat Ready at Dawn bezig is aan een next-gen game. Zo kregen verschillende jorunalisten een demo achter gesleuten deuren te zien. Wordt het een sequel voor The Order: 1886? Of een comeback van Resistance, nu Insomniac Games aan Spider-Man 2 werkt? Het kan alle richtingen uit.

Al moeten we bij deze lofzang ook een kanttekening maken: de relatie van de ontwikkelaar met Sony is bijzonder sterk. Ready At Dawn maakte onder andere Daxter, God of War: Chains of Olympus en God of War: Ghost of Sparta voor PSP, om daarna de PS4-exclusive The Order: 1886 in elkaar te boksen.

Ook andere first-party devs hebben hun mening over de PS5 gedeeld, zoals de twee game directors van The Last of Us 2:
