Op 11 december vindt The Game Awards plaats en de show heeft alvast alle nominaties bekendgemaakt. Die zijn geselecteerd door zo’n 150 internationale gaming websites en creators. Ook Invader zetelt voor het eerst in de jury van de award show.

Meteen valt op dat Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 een enorme topfavoriet is. De turn-based RPG duikt op in maar liefst 12 categorieën. Maar ook Sony doet het niet slecht met 8 nominaties voor zowel Death Stranding als Ghost of Yotei. Ook Hades 2 haalt 6 nominaties binnen en Hollow Knight: Silksong scoort er 5.
